Thousands of years ago, the most valuable and important institution in the world was created by God.
This institution, throughout history, was the base of society and was responsible for raising up men and
women who impacted generations. God created the family.
Genesis 2:22–24 says, “Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.
‘At last!’ the man exclaimed. ‘This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be
called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’’ This explains why a man leaves his father and
mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
From the Holy Scriptures, we see clearly that one of God’s greatest purposes for human beings is for
them to form a family—to get married and have children.
However, throughout history, the devil has tried to destroy the family, from biblical times (such as in the
story of Cain and Abel), to the present day.
Sadly, we see more and more dysfunctional families. We see the number of divorces rising (in Brazil,
there were almost 400 thousand divorces in 2021, a 16% increase from the previous year). We see
children who do not honor their parents, parents who do not have the wisdom to raise their children,
and many other tragic situations (there is no shortage of news reports showing this).
These events are very far from God’s original purpose for the family.
But by His grace, the Lord has given us, from PAZ International, a vision to work in this area that is so
special to Him.
Through evangelization and discipleship, we are seeing many families restored, marriages saved, and life
stories rewritten.
