Josiah, son of Paz Church founders Luke and Christine Huber, was born and raised on the mission field in Santarém, Brazil. At age 16, he traveled to the United States to complete school. After graduating from Bible college, Josiah met and married his wife, Jennifer. In 2005, the couple moved back to Santarem to work in church planting.
They spent 8 1/2 years serving the Lord in Santarem and also planting and overseeing churches in the Amazon River Basin. They adopted their daughter, Sofia, at just 2 days old in March of 2013. Later that year, the Lord called their family to join a team of missionaries sent by Paz Church to Japan to work with an international church, part of the church plant Josiah’s uncle Tim Huber began years ago.
Josiah, Jennifer, and Sofia now live in the Tokyo metropolitan area and are the head pastors of Paz Church. Josiah is also the president and one of the teachers of Paz Bible College. They are involved with family groups and discipleship, and they serve on the worship team as well. Through the biblical model of church planting, they are working toward and believing for 45 million disciples of Jesus in Japan by 2050!
